Chimneys need to allow free passage of dangerous combustion gases, Regular cleaning removes soot and creosote, helping to prevent chimney fires. Birds nests, cobwebs and other blockages will be removed.

The previous owners may have arranged a sweep, look for a certificate of sweeping -qualified sweeps always leave one- if you cant find one, its probably because it hasn’t been swept in a while!

All Solid fuel, gas, and oil, appliances produce CO, in a healthy chimney this is removed from the house. If you do not have a CO alarm in the same room as your appliance, it is a sensible precaution, all installations since 2010 are required one by law. We can supply and fit an alarm for you.
